We were so taken with this sound of this little amplifier that we went all out and decided to see how far we could push the performance. Quite far! A few of the changes that we perform to the "Signature version:
* Upgrade all eletrolytic capacitors to the MUCH more expensive and much higher performing Sanyo/Vishay Oscon ultra low impedence polymerized organic semi-conductor capacitors. These caps are amazing, perhaps the best in the world?!
* Upgrade input caps to a much better sounding Mundorf audio grade film capacitors
* Upgrade output wiring to our proprietary CFDCT-UP-OCC wire
* Add ERS fabric to key areas to reduce noise.
* Add damping material to case to reduce noise.
These *Signature* optimization tweaks take this already great little amp and produce world class budget sound. In our listening tests, the combination of the OSCON's and Mundorf capacitors coupled with the damping and EMI/RFI abatement techniques we use really offered some great sound on suitably sensitive loudspeakers.
ALERT--For ultimate performance, this little amplifier really sounds amazing when used with a battery!
