This is not a reworking of an existing cheap mass produced USB cable, this is an entirely new design, utilizing Locus Design's cryo'd wire and hand constructed by Locus Design.

Close attention is paid to mitigating mechanical noise and triboelectric effects. Like the Polestar, a special braid of ultra pure cryo'd copper conductors and Teflon air tubes make up the inner design of the cable. In the Axis, they use double the runs of the special wire as compared to Polestar.

Locus Design then constructs the cable with various levels of Teflon for damping and structural purposes. We have also have developed a special shielding comprised of a tinned copper weave and strategic use of ERS fabric. This shielding and damping is designed to isolate the data +/- lines from the +/- VDC lines.

Most USB cables are shielded, however it is very rare indeed to find a USB cable that isolates the data lines from the voltage lines. This may be a first.

Finally, another layer of shielding is addded and a Techflex braid is pulled over the complete assembly for extra damping and aestethic appeal.
